We live in a world where women with so-called “perfect” bodies are thrown in our face all the time. Adjectives like fit, thin, fat, curvy, tall, short are used to describe our physical bodies, and we are left standing in front of a mirror judging our self-worth. I lived the better part of my life not feeling good enough for the world around me. People closest to me commented every time I lost or gained weight. I couldn’t understand how my husband thought I was sexy. I thought during every conversation I had with a person, they were judging my appearance. That was until I realized that the only opinion that matters is my own. I know that other women have felt the same about themselves, and I love showing them just how beautiful they really are.
Back in 2014 I had my second baby via c-section. I was feeling very much like a “MOM” and that’s all I was. I decided to do boudoir session with a colleague of mine. He was a male photographer, and while I was super comfortable with him, I didn’t feel like I could fully let myself go. There was still a guard there. I showed up at his studio with my outfits, did my own hair and makeup, and had my session. He gave me the edited digital images. I loved them, but I don’t think I’ve looked at them since. They got lost on my computer.
I felt beautiful and sexy, but there was something missing. This is when I started sticking my pinky toe into the world of boudoir photography. I saw how it empowered women and ignited a spark in them. I immediately knew I wanted to be able to give that to other women. I wanted to provide them with an incredible experience from start to finish. I wanted to get them glammed up, help them choose the right look for themselves, and have them leave my studio feeling like a million bucks…no better yet. PRICELESS
The transformation that takes place in my studio is the best part of the entire experience. Most women who come into my studio are nervous and sometimes visibly shy. Sweat palms and shaky voices are something I see all the time. Once they sit down in my chair to get their hair and makeup done, the transformation starts to take place. She starts to visibly relax and shed those layers of hesitancy.
Then the session begins! The first poses we do help get them warmed up. They are in the beautiful window light and highlight their beautiful eyes and face. When I show my clients their images on the back of my camera they say, “OH MY GOD, That’s me? NO WAY!” And from that moment on you they relaxed and in the moment. They start to feel sexy and everything begins to click.
By the time we finish the sessions and head into the image reveal, we are the best of friends. We have just shared an incredible experience that they will always remember. We’ve laughed and shared stories about our lives. We may even be planning our next coffee date.
Once I show them their images on the big screen, their jaw drops. They see themselves through my lens like they never have before. This is the amazing thing about my job. They get to see themselves the way I see them. Perfect. Flawless. Beautiful. When they walk out that door they are smiling from ear to ear and already telling their friends all about their experience.
I don’t just talk the talk. In order for me to empower other women in the fullest way possible I need to walk the walk. What better way to know how to provide the best experience than to put myself in the shoes of a client. After my session in Arizona last year with A.Morgan Studios, I felt like the sexiest goddess that ever lived. I COULD NOT WAIT to have my album made and show my husband how incredible I felt. I also gave him one of those fun little retro view finders that my clients love so much. A year later he still picks it up off the night stand and flips through it.
Boudoir photography is a celebration of who you are and everything you’ve been through to make you the incredible woman you are today. Your highs and your lows are what brought you here to this moment today. Let me show you your inner goddess and help set her free before she’s gone forever.

I love that story. I think although some men might understand they haven’t had the experience that women do, so they can’t completely grasp what most of us have had deal with, just as we haven’t experienced what they have.
