Boudoir Photography – Frequently Asked Questions
The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to a woman about their session, I get asked all kinds of questions. Here is a list I compiled with some of my most frequently asked questions.
Do you share any of my images?
My number one priority is making sure my clients are comfortable, especially in such an intimate setting. It can be a life changing experience, and it also can be nerve wracking. Sometimes you are learning how to love your body and you aren’t quite ready to share your images with the world, or sometimes these photos are done specially for your partner and aren’t for anyone else’s eyes. Those are all great reasons for not sharing your photos, and it all depends on your personal preference. If there are photos that I would like to share, I will ask permission first, and only share what you are comfortable with.
Do I have to wear lingerie?
You definitely don’t have to wear lingerie. It all depends on your personality! There are so many outfit ideas other than lacy little things.
Do you have payment plans?
There are a few options. I offer interest free pre-payment plans to all of my customers and bonuses to my clients who pay in full at booking. There is a retainer to book your session and hold your day. All payments are due in full two weeks before your session date. Let me know if that’s something you would like to set up!
Is hair and makeup included?
Yes! Hair and makeup is included in all of my boudoir sessions. I that that this is so important for you to feel pampered and special, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that! My incredible team will will give you that subtle “I woke up this good” look or glam you up however you’d like. Bring ideas that you’d like to use for inspiration.
Do you Photoshop my images?
I do edit your images for lighting, exposure, and color balance. I do NOT however edit or alter anything that is permanent and part of who you are. Part of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not changing parts about yourself that you don’t like. If there are parts of yourself that you are learning to love and aren’t thrilled about, that’s okay! I am skilled in posing and lighting to help make you look your absolute best and bring out your shine!
Where should I buy outfits?
There are a few places to buy outfits from, and it depends on what you are getting and the style of your session. Here is a long list to choose from with different styles and sizing: Victoria’s Secret, Forever 21, Adoreme.com, Torrid, eberjay.com, Aerie, Honeybirdette.com, Venus, hipsandcurves.com. There is also an awesome lingerie shop right in Worcester, MA called “The O Shop”. If you’re looking for something specific that you can’t find, let me know and I might be able to help you find it!
What type of printed products do you offer?
I offer a hand-selected variety of luxury albums, glass boxes, and prints. A gorgeous 10×10 album with a soft velvet cover is a fan favorite. Clients love being able to hold their images in their hands and flip through them for a wonderful reminder to love themselves always. Metal wall art and retro viewfinders are also a fun way to display you images from your session.
Do you offer digitals?
All of my collections include some sort of printed images, and there is also an a la carte list you can choose from as well. Digital Images are included in my best selling collections as well as an add on to a la carte items. Digital images come in a password protected gallery that you can use to download or share your images.
I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Nerves are all part of the experience! It would probably be weird if you weren’t nervous. It all makes that moment when you see your images for the first time that much more exciting.
How many outfits should I bring?
It depends on the collection you choose. We want to make sure we get a great variety of images and poses. Anywhere from 2-4 outfits is about what we have time for. You can bring several options, and we can choose together at your session.
How long is a session?
Plan on spending a full day with me at my studio! We start with hair and makeup at 9:30am, take photos for an hour to an hour and a half, take a lunch break, and then have your image reveal and ordering appointment. The you can go out with you girlfriends or your partner for dinner or drinks while you’re all glammed up!
Where is your studio located?
I am located in Charlton, MA. I love my old schoolhouse studio. It is packed with so much charm. If you are interested in renting a different type of studio space or an estate house, I can help you with those options as well. I have several options that my clients love.
